The only issue I have with the article is the assertion that when Lake Nakuru environment becomes unhospitable to the flamingoes, they migrate to lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake and is not home to the proper algae species. The flamingoes migrate to the other soda lakes in the region: Lake Bagoria and Lake Elmenteita. Lake Naivasha and Lake Baringo are off limits to the flamingoes. ---Information from personal observations after 4 months in the Rift Valley and upon discussion with Nakuru National Park staff. |
