2nd Largest Lake?
editI disagree with the statment "At 71,000 acres (287 km²), it is the 2nd largest artificial lake east of the Mississippi River.(The largest is the Kentucky Lake.)" While Kentucky Lake is the largest, Lake Strom Thurmond is 3rd behind Lake Marion which has a surface area of 110,000 acres. I use this is my external reference, http://www.sciway.net/city/lake-marion-sc.html . Rocketmaniac 16:02, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Very Biased article
editThis article reads like a chamber of commerce advert. It talks about none of the negative impacts of the dam. (fish population decreases, coastal outflow to the sea being sharply reduced with negative impacts to marine ecosystems, hundreds of people displaced by the dam's building, Silt buildup behind the dam, etc.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.200.217.58 (talk) 05:03, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Lake Strom Thurmond → Clarks Hill Lake –
- This is the name of this geographic feature as it is commonly known 96.32.129.220 (talk) 20:33, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
- This is not uncontroversial. — AjaxSmack 01:17, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
- A summary of name usage:
- South Carolina: Lake Strom Thurmond
- Georgia: Clarks Hill Lake
- US Central Government: Lake Strom Thurmond
- (¡Unsourced!) more common name according to the article: Clarks Hill Lake
- Without more evidence, hardly a compelling case for a move. — AjaxSmack 13:28, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
