How is the Suez Canal supplying freshwater to the area?
editThe Suez Canal has no locks and seawater freely flows through it. Then why does it say that it supplies freshwater to the Lake? If anything, the lake should be getting much saltier because of the canal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sega31098 (talk • contribs) 23:48, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
The Suez Canal is salt water flowing from the Med and Red Sea (depending on tidal influence). Lake Timsah is salty. Lake Timsah may have been more salty than the Med or Red Sea before the Canal, but it is not getting less salty from inflow of fresh water. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.170.89.203 (talk) 16:07, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
