Wikiproject Kenya?
editWhat happened to it? Turkana is primarily in Kenya.Dave 03:15, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Pronunciation
editWhat notation is the pronunciation?? It's non-standard (i.e. non IPA) as far as I can see and unclear.
Fossilized footprints
editShould this story be added to the main article?
A recent story on public radio describes the find of 1.5 million-year-old fossilized hominan footprints found at Lake Turkana.
Science is publishing the story
The fossil site is at Ileret
- I am looking around the wiki to see if there is a more relevant article for this story.
Discrepancy
editAccording to Rift Valley lakes, Lake Turkana is freshwater.71.171.129.207 (talk) 20:43, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm querying this, too (I've requested a citation). There's nothing here or in the sources that I can see that shows what the salinity is; nor can I find any list of salt-water lakes, to say this is the third. And the salinity of the Caspian Sea is 120 parts per thousand, which is only a third of sea-water; when does a lake stop being fresh-water and start being a salt lake? pH level?
editPlease provide the pH level of the water. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.188.203.248 (talk) 14:36, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Nabiyotum Crater
editMaybe this landform should be added to the article. It seems to be well-photographed. Nabiyotum Crater on Lake Turkana http://www.dazzlingfacts.com/nabiyotum-crater-lake-turkana-kenya/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.82.109.203 (talk) 03:53, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
