What's the purpose of this page? To have another playground for people wishing to argue who belongs to the Balkans and who doesn't? --Shallot 18:15, 24 Jun 2004 (UTC)

What's wrong with it ? It's a valid topic, not less valid than European languages or Scandinavian languages.

The page European languages is also pretty pointless (it's mostly just a list, it doesn't explain itself much), and it probably gets its fair share of dispute due to Armenian and such. The page Scandinavian languages lists mutually intelligible languages, at least. --Shallot

Ruled by the "BALKAN STATES"

As it should be known, the term balkan state is not and can not be defined. If we look at geographical term of balkans, than this article is lacking Italian from the list because small part of Italy is on the Balkans. Also, the languages spoken are not only majority languages but also minority languages if we stick to the way first sentence is defining these languages. For example, in Croatia, besides Croatian language, Hungarian, Italian, Czech and Serbian are co-oficial languages on municipal level and German is spoken by Germans.
