Move to 'Largest cities in the Inland Empire (California)'

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Aervanath (talk) 15:13, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Largest cities in the Inland Empire → Largest cities in the Inland Empire (California) — It is inappropriate to assume that everyone in the world knows that "Inland Empire" refers to the region of California. Also for consistency with it's parent article. SoCal L.A. (talk) 22:45, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

- Oppose. There's no ambiguity. If articles about largest cities in other Inland Empires are created in the future, the article can be moved then. — AjaxSmack 00:55, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose Yea, so I guess if there is other pages created then we make the move right? House1090 (talk) 01:02, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Alternate proposal: Move to List of largest cities in the Inland Empire by population, as this is really a list and not an article, and this title more accurately reflects the criteria for inclusion. —KuyaBriBriTalk 02:31, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- Support alternate proposal, as it clarifies what the article is about. Perhaps the phrasing could be List of most populous cities in the Inland Empire? --TorriTorri(Talk to me!) 10:55, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- The title is constant with other list of largest cities in Southern California. But it would work. House1090 (talk) 04:21, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- Support Inland Empire is a dab page, the current name means that someone could sectionize this article, and create sections for each "Inland Empire". 76.66.194.4 (talk) 03:42, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- Support. I am British; I had not heard of the Inland Empire, and at first I thought that it was some "alternate history" entity, until I read the article. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:31, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- Support. As with Anthony Appleyard's rationale, I support this as it makes the article much clearer to a global English speaking reader, and I would imagine to many more non-Californian's and non-Nevadan's in the US who don't hear of the Inland Empire as an intrastate California region. N2e (talk) 23:35, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- Comment The article is not unclear; the first sentence clearly explains that the Inland Empire is a metropolitan region in California. --TorriTorri(Talk to me!) 23:43, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yes it does. House1090 (talk) 03:31, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Merge discussion
editI am proposing that this page be merged into Inland Empire (California)#Incorporated cities. There is almost total overlap between the two, and there is no need to have a separate list of most populous cities. --TorriTorri(Talk to me!) 20:40, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Oppose, but should wait n what others think. House1090 (talk) 23:14, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Comment Please remember that polling is not a substitute for discussion. Could you explain why you are opposed? --TorriTorri(Talk to me!) 01:33, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- Support Seeing as Southern Border got its deleted, and there is no other similar article, except for the So-Cal one, this one should go too (Forgot the South Border one got deleted, did not notice until I tried looking for it) . House1090 (talk) 00:46, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
