I think there are some facts wrong on this article. Why does it mention Curt Gowdy was a Red Sox fan? Another guy yelling in the booth was Tony Kubek, and he played for the Yankees. I think it wrongs to say that the Jacksa/Roder manual speaks for 'professional baseball'. The MLB posts it rules on line, (with clarifying comments) and no such language can be found in rule 7.09 (http://www.mlb.com/mlb/downloads/y2008/official_rules/07_the_runner.pdf). I think it should be noted that the Jacksa/Roder manual does not in anyway speak for 'professional baseball". They are books meant to help umpires and many umpires - professional and other.
