Rename to Larry N. Cohen?

edit

Instead of just "(bridge)", can we not be more specific with his name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.252.160.16 (talk) 13:24, 5 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Seems reasonable given that there is at least one other Larry Cohen; not sure of that person's middle initial but am aware that there was some controversy associated with him and allegations of improper bridge conduct. Be bold. Do it! Newwhist (talk) 23:05, 5 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Larry N. Cohen lists an eddress and might tell us the other's middle initial.

Larry N. Cohen redirects here. I created it having forgotten this discussion. To move the article there will now require an administrator, see WP:MOR.

Bridge accomplishments

edit

Here and in a hundred other biography pages we follow the ACBL tradition of lionizing 1st and 2nd places.

Personal best results in WBF teams competition (team ranks without reference to scores or player/pair performance):

  • 4th in 1993 Bermuda Bowl --as USA2 with Bergen and Berkowitz both teammates. We list a US trials runner-up for none of them, as we do for teammate Eric Rodwell#Runners-up. Superficially that's a mistake or all three were added to a team with no more than three qualified players.
  • 3rd in 2000 World Team Olympiad --as USA1 with partner Berkowitz, they had won the US trials.

Cohen participate in no other Bermuda or Olympiad tournaments. Bergen–Cohen and Meckstroth–Rodwell, at least, were second in the 1985 US trials but ACBL/North America was then represented by one US and one other team.

  • 4th in 2010 Rosenblum Cup (i deem lesser) --open entry, without a long-time partner.

In the Open Pairs quadrennially from 1994 he and Berkowitz ranked 9, 2, 28, 51.[1]
