Ashes

The bio says:

He was cremated and his ashes were reportedly scattered at The Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation in Brantford, Ontario, Canada

I actually live in this neck of the woods and had no idea about it until I had read it here. I've attempted to find out the answer to this question, but to no avail... Please let me know if you find out! Thank you! Dphilp75 (talk) 14:56, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey guys. I was Larry's nephew. I was in the boat when we scattered Larry's ashes at sea, off the coast of Bodega Bay, California. Since seeing this article and several other pages that list Larry's ashes were scattered in Canada, I wanted to correct this issue. Larry's wishes were to have his ashes scattered at sea at Bodega Bay, California, and we did so. My aunt Deborah flew from New York with his ashes in a sealed can. She opened the can with a can opener on the boat. I believe my cousin Kelly(Larry's daughter) and my grandma(Larry's mom) kept some of the ashes. The rest were emptied in the sea. I'm going to change the page to reflect this. I don't know what Kelly did with her dad's ashes. She mentioned it on the boat, but I didn't catch it. Was it Six Nations in Canada? I don't know. But he wasn't Canadian nor Native American. Also, Kelly hasn't lived in LA for a few years now. Smoker

I read somewhere he was a heavy smoker and also had a personality the exact opposite of Frank Burns - True? Jokem (talk) 19:36, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

I must be bored if I'm answering questions on Wikipedia. Larry was my uncle. He smoked constantly and coughed a lot. He used to drive up from LA to Sacramento to get away from everything and stay with us for several days at a time. We'd have to go find the ash trays for him, and then he'd turn our house into a smokey bar until he went back down south.

He wasn't like Frank Burns at all. He was always very generous with his time, spending a massive amount of effort helping me with my writing(still haven't submitted any of my work to publishers yet, err!), and helping any way he could. I've heard stories of him repairing door hinges for neighbors and crafting furniture for people. Even people he didn't really know, he'd help. It didn't matter to him. He genuinely liked people. When we'd go out in public to a restaurant or something, people would stand around our table while we ate. It was really weird. But he'd never tell people to go away or give us peace. He'd listen to them and give them his time. Loud, charismatic, kind, but also lost. Really glad to hear about your uncle (not his death!). Been binging on M*A*S*H (TV series) again lately and am reminded how much I hated his Burns character. Just an awful person. But reading your memories helps me separate your uncle from his character. --plaws (talk) 20:24, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
