Merge with Lassie (1954 TV series)

edit

This article needs to be merged with Lassie (1954 TV series). Lassie was portrayed over several years. There is no reason why any one Lassie needs to have its own article.--Lassiewasadog (talk) 20:27, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Strongly disagree...that is a fairly odd suggestion. Lassie is a character that exists across multiple films and television series, not any one. There is no valid reason to consider this to purely be that one Lassie nor to discount the other portrayals. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 20:29, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I’m one of the biggest fans of Lassie but we must comply with rules as Wikipedia is not a directory. This would make things easier to find instead of spreading them out all over hell's half acre.--Lassiewasadog (talk) 20:41, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
This has nothing at all to do with Wikipedia's "not a directory" guideline, and, again, is just not appropriate at all. This are not "spread out all over" but appropriately organized. Lassie is a character - that is a separate topic from the specific 1954 television series. The same as each of the Lassie films are separate articles. That is appropriate as each has individual notability and are different topics. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 20:44, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
If this is true then why isn't there any links from Lassie (1954 TV series) back to this Lassie?--Lassiewasadog (talk) 20:56, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Um...there is a link right there in the first sentence of the article...-- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs)
You're right there, I missed that one.--Lassiewasadog (talk) 21:11, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Breed

edit

I mistaken lassie was a Shetland Sheepdog (miniature rough collie) but turned out to be a Rough Collie. Both breeds looked too similar in encyclopedia Brittanica where no scale in drawing added and I am no expert. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Shetland_Sheepdog_and_Rough_Collie.jpg Can we put a reference about the breed of lassie for further reference. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090626052622AAJCiKX not RS but good info on dog actors, we should also add leading human actors name that work with dog actors. Adding which descendant of the original lassie, might also be a helpful. Kasaalan (talk) 14:29, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Space Ghost Coast to Coast

edit

Space Ghost "interviewed" a Lassie in 1995 during season 2. Does anyone know if this was a Pal descendant, or if they just hired a non-Pal dog? Random question, but I thought maybe some hard core lassie fans might know the answer :3 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.161.210.166 (talk) 05:39, 20 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Twenty Years Not Nineteen

edit

Just watched one of the later episodes of Lassie, and it says it was made in 1974. Somebody explain why this article says the show ended in 1973. In-Correct (talk) 05:44, 30 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Maybe you should've answered it sooner. • SbmeirowTalk19:27, 8 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Sbmeirow I don't see how you answered it by pointing to an episode table when the user presumably was referring to an onscreen copyright date. But that's a moot point considering the user hasn't been active since 2013, which was the subtext of my note above. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:08, 10 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

The link to Sound of Joy is a 1968 Jazz album and has nothing to do with Lassie. Alanasings (talk) 09:33, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Alanasings (talk) 09:32, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
