Talk:Latin American Asian

The quality of this article is like a stub but the history of Latin-Americans in Asia is very very important because several of Asia's cuisines i.e. such as the use of Chili peppers in India or the massive influx of silver in China (which now currently adorns the forbidden palace) as well the predominantly Hispanic culture of the Philippines is due to the presence of Latin-Americans in Asia. This has obviously been a long-running topic, stretching for centuries. Yet, it took me this late in the year 2014 for somebody to make an article such as this. This is crazy. My humble efforts can't even make a dent on a topic this expansive. I need help.

Because the Spaniards and other Europeans imported and globalized those natural resources native to the Americas; most of these merchants, explorers, state officials were Spaniards even if they came from what is now Latin America, it was part of Spain at the time. To refer to half of these things and people in the article as Latin America is ridiculous, Latin America was created after Spanish colonization, meaning that that by the time Latin America became a concept - Spain had been directly ruling the Philippines. Mexico didn't even exist until the early 19th century and when they won their independence they lost direct control of the Philippines, since it was the government of New Spain ruling over the Philippines. The Philippines was ruled by Spain via what became Mexico and later a part of Latin America. However, when the Philippines was ruled from New Spain there was no Mexico or Latin America, just Spain. This whole article is a huge mess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.23.163.172 (talk) 17:18, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
