Turkish spelling

edit

I don't think 'Laçça' is the right way to spell Latsia in Tukish. Why would there be two ç's? 93.109.171.237 (talk) 18:49, 19 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given there's not been any replies in this time, I'll remove the Turkish name. 93.109.171.237 (talk) 00:31, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

I happen to live in Latsia! I really don't think that the Turkish spelling is pertinent, as there were never Turkish-Cypriots in Latsia, at least since 1881 (the first census). When you removed the Armenian spelling Alakzi you gave the same reason... Neo ^ (talk) 17:26, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Turkish is an administrative language; therefore, its inclusion is generally appropriate. For example, no Greek Cypriots have ever lived in Agia, but we've still got its Greek name there. Alakzi (talk) 17:47, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Official, yes, administrative no, not for Latsia anyway. Food for thought... Neo ^ (talk) 21:12, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Irrelevant. Official place names are ordained by the national government. Alakzi (talk) 21:23, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
