Yes, the "Enlarged Edition" (1975) of the book has an extensive discussion of the uproar following the publication of the original edition. Nasukaren (talk) 14:46, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Humphreys' academic credentials in debate

edit

There's some debate over whether Humphreys actually received his Ph.D. and then had it rescinded by Washington University or never actually received it in the first place. In fact, some sources state that he earned, and kept, his Ph.D. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Waterbug07 (talkcontribs) 18:35, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The evidence that his PhD was rescinded is an unverified private website. In contradiction, several academic articles including the one cited from LinguaFranca (http://linguafranca.mirror.theinfo.org/9711/9711.allen.html) note that there was only an ATTEMPT. If it had been successful, LH would not have been able to have taught at the collegiate level. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nasukaren (talkcontribs) 05:58, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Influence

edit

I would like to provide more balance to this article and to talk about the influence Humphreys had on the study of sexuality. I propose a new section entitled, Influence, with summaries from sociological journal articles.AnaSoc (talk) 01:27, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Combine Tearoom Trade article with this one?

edit

Currently, the Tearoom Trade article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tearoom_Trade is poorly sourced, outdated, and unbalanced. What do you think about moving the bulk of the material to the Laud Humphreys article, and redirecting Tearoom Trade here?AnaSoc (talk) 03:56, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Such a discussion should be done using Template:Merge. Also, you should try to centralize such a discussion. For now, I say no, reasons at Talk:Tearoom Trade. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:25, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
Agreed based on our other conversations. Thanks.AnaSoc (talk) 00:37, 24 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
