This page is factual and substantiated

This page does not represent a COI as it is unbiased in affect: all facts are cited. All poets are minor while alive. I am a midcareer poet with several books, award, fellowships or scholarships, and two edited anthologies with University presses. The credentials are on par with many other poets of the same career stature, and in fact, this smacks of a systematic attack on women writers. Since the credentials here are analogous to those of male poets of the same career stature on Wikipedia, this page should not be deleted. If any facts or summary on it are NOT legitimate need to be corrected, I request that be done, as I want the page to be accurate and unbiased. Please note items that you think are wrong.Lmccullough (talk) 15:09, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Welcome edits and clean ups!!

If this page is being cleaned up for formatting or edited to make it more concise, cleaner, more accurate in any way, I welcome that. Everything is factual, cite-able, verifiable. If you are assisting in making it a better page, thank you. If not, I will edit it, as well.Lmccullough (talk) 15:25, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

You do not own this article. What's more, you have a conflict of interest. It is strongly discouraged to write an article about oneself. This article does not cite reliable secondary sources. RGloucester 16:07, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

References

I advised Laura to put these here and she may have gotten confused and put on another talk page, so I'm copying this here. Carolmooredc (Talkie-Talkie) 23:28, 5 August 2014 (UTC) _____

I have several books including two anthologies I edited, won two NJ State Arts Council Fellowships, one in prose and one in poetry, won the Kinereath Genseler Award for my book Panic (also a BOTYA finalist) with Alice James Books, and there are a ton of links to my work on line. A quick search pulls these up. If they need to be linked on the page, then that would be great, but calling the page into question is inappropriate as my creds are in line with many other poets' pages:

some Books and anthologies I have written or edited:

Reviews or comments on my work:

Interviews of me or by me:

Radio or Videos of me or me interviewing other writers:

Examples of poems online:

I teach in these two writing venues, one an annual conference, the other an MFA program:

Other things I have written that appear on Web:

Notability questioned

Despite the long list of references above, I find that the coverage is not the type of coverage required by WP:GNG and WP:NOTEBLP. It is still minor, with interviews and PR stuff. Being a published poet alone does not grant notability. --Bejnar (talk) 17:31, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

I agree. Compare it to Louise Glück who really is notable. It's not likely that any more of note will be added to this article. Parabolooidal (talk) 23:41, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
This very issue was thoroughly hashed out at WP:Articles for deletion/Laura McCullough which closed a few days ago. Editors who are not happy with the decision of Joe Decker might contact him in accordance with WP:CLOSEAFD. (It is unlikely that Joe would change the closing.) Once they did so, they could then go to WP:Deletion review, which also looks at "keeps". (Finally, "more of note" will be added to the article as her career progresses.) – S.
