This man in this photograph holding the tenor saxophone, is Tex Beneke, who played with Glen Miller, and led his own bands after Glen Miller was killed in WWII.

The man in this photo is not Laurindo Almeida, the guitar player.192.122.250.250 (talk) 12:10, 10 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

i've replaced the pic and will try and leave a message for the uploader of the original pic that it's incorrectly titled -- the Portugese Laurindo Almeida page also has the wrong pic, but it doesn't appear to have a discussion page, and i don't feel up to editing Portugese pages! unfortunately the Library of Congress photo itself is incorrectly titled "Laurindo Almeida" -- (i have contacted the LoC about this and am awaiting a reply) -- (the same photo appears on another page of the Gottlieb Archive at the LoC correctly titled "Tex Beneke") Oniscoid (talk) 12:49, 23 September 2010 (UTC) -- edited Oniscoid (talk) 00:11, 24 September 2010 (UTC) -- re-edited Oniscoid (talk) 00:15, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
I just replaced the same erroneous photo in all of Almeida's pages in other languages, including Portuguese. DutchmanInDisguise (talk) 06:48, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've added Laurindo's photo to his pages in the remaining languages. An artist of his stature deserves to have his picture on his page. I wish I could write better in some of those languages so that I could expand and improve them. DutchmanInDisguise (talk) 18:59, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

It has come to my attention that this page, while not labeled a stub, is incomplete about the career of guitarist virtuoso Laurindo Almeida. I plan to undertake substantial edits, such as adding sections on Background, Early Career, Film Work, Later Career, Honors and Awards, but wanted to alert people interested in Laurindo Almeida in the event there are any objections, or someone else is about to embark on a similar project. Thank you. Hallie Swift (talk) 15:04, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
