Inspiration for "Deadlock"
editCan anyone provide a source saying this episode was inspired by the 2006 Amish school shooting? I don't really see any correlation to that particular shooting, and a month and a half would be an awfully short time for an episode to go from writing to airing. I've tagged it cite needed, will probably remove the note after a few days unless a source is given.--Fyre2387 (talk • contribs) 06:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Please leave the cite needed tag longer than just a few days. Sourcing this kind of info often requires contacting someone connected with the production company or the network, which does not happen quickly. Wl219 06:18, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- I doubt that sort of thing would be workable anyway...a contact with a company official would be very questionable as a source, unless it actually appears in a publication somewhere, since there'd be no real way to verify it.--Fyre2387 (talk • contribs) 16:18, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Even so, it may take months for this kind of information to filter out into a published or televised interview. Besides, personal contact is perfectly OK as a citeable source in most scholarly work if the interviewer holds on to evidence thereof (letters, transcripts, tapes, etc.) If that's good enough for, say, Harvard Law Review, it should be good enough for WP. What's the harm in keeping the tag for now? It's not like a simple listing of L&O episodes is up for feature status anytime soon. Wl219 17:17, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia policy does not allow personal contact to be used as a source, since there's no way anyone else can verify it. That's well established. If no source exists, this is nothing but fan speculation and should be removed. And polciy applies to all articles, not just featured ones.--Fyre2387 (talk • contribs) 20:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Mental Illness
editDoes anyone know the connection (if there is indeed a connection) of the Law & Order show to have many episodes concernin some aspect of mentall illness? I applaud the way it is handled in the show, and always wonder who is responsible for touching on this very important topic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.195.234.113 (talk) 18:26, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
Colour contrast problems
editIt seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.
To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.
To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.
Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)
