Sourcing an image correctly

edit

I am keen to add an image. Just wondering how these are usually sourced for living biographies in a way that respects copyright? BoldandBewutiful (talk) 01:25, 14 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@BoldandBewutiful, hi there and thanks for the great work on this page! With the photo you've uploaded, I gather that it was sourced from this blog. Where have you found the licence information for it? It's not clear to me that it's been expressly released by the photographer under the CC-BY-4.0 licence, although I could be missing something. If that is right, then unfortunately it might not be suitable to include. There's information on this infographic about the requirements for uploading to Wikimedia Commons.
Unfortunately it can be really tricky to get suitable pictures onto Wikipedia when it comes to living people. Let me know if you have any questions about this! Cheers, Chocmilk03 (talk) 23:08, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I myself took a look at this as I was did a few tweaks on the article. I think the best thing here is to maybe have the editor above @BoldandBewutiful contact the website to see what the licensing is? Not sure on this! ArleneHerman (talk) 23:59, 1 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your comments. I've contacted the website to ask about the licensing. If I don't hear back, I'll remove the image. BoldandBewutiful (talk) 10:23, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
