Opera?
editThere's no indication that the oratorio was meant to be staged. How does it fit among operas? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:09, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- see Lazarus (Schubert)#Sources: in the "Stage Works" series of the New Schubert Edition. --Francis Schonken (talk) 12:23, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- Helped, thank you. (I still think it's strange to see this under stage works, but not Elijah which I saw in a dramatic production on stage ;) ) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:26, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
- The libretto was published as an azione sacra ("sacred drama"): whether Schubert had any dramatic representation in view is subject to educated guesswork, as the score was left unfinished, and it certainly didn't come to a performance during his life. --Francis Schonken (talk) 12:34, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
