editI’m confused as to why someone added the box that states there are no references sited in this article. I count 10 of them throughout this article. Please explain. Don
I added the sources/references tag when I was categorising the article. There a number of places where the tone is not quite encyclopedic and where the text seems to be speculating rather than stating facts that can be tracked back to a verifiable source. As well, the article could be improved by referring to a broader range of more formal references--for example, works of professional historians. Addere 23:29, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
So is it the tone you are wanting fixed or the (several listed) missing references and/or links mentioned? I am not sure what you want now, as the box mentions "no references" and now your saying "the tone is not quite encyclopedic". Please be more clear as to what you would like fixed! Don
I have made many changes over the past few days to the article and have removed the box's. Let me know what you think. Dthem 2000 10:09, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Sources
editMany external links are dead. It would be good to have academic works that refer to Milfort and his work with McGillivray, if these exist. Citations should include page numbers in books or articles.Parkwells (talk) 20:10, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Undue weight
editIt seems Undue weight to have such a lengthy quote from the 1851 history, about what is a small incident in Milfort's life. What is the point, exactly? It seems more appropriate as a link for the Conecuh County article, so I'm moving it there. We know that Milfort was in the territory, but this doesn't tell much about him.
