This sounds like astroturfing. LTV has also engaged a PR firm to spam cocktail blogs: http://www.drinkplanner.com/2009/02/11/le-tournament-vert-hired-some-morons/
The "Astroturfing" has been edited and the PR scandal has been cited in order to represent a more neutral POV for the article as a whole. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.94.235.103 (talk) 21:56, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
This article was again attacked with advertising recently as seen by the history.

This article is not being attacked. It is being updated with information regarding the brand Le Tourment Vert. They played a prominent role in the Sundance Film Festival, and all information is being noted. Donjulio38 (talk) 02:32, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
While it may well be true that they sponsored the Sundance Film Festival, they also were part of a large and even better publicized scandal involving astroturfing on cocktail blogs. Furthermore, all kinds of liquor companies (absinthe included) advertise through a great number of sponsorship programs. The only noteworthy relationship Le Tourment Vert has with film is the film which was created under its sponsorship, not which film festivals during which they decide to purchase advertisements.
In addition, the mentioning of this specific advertisement vehicle is clearly written up to shine positive light on the brand as seen by the explanation of what said sponsorship allegedly indicates. If this were to be even mentioned, it would need be noted in the text that this is in fact a quote from the advertising venue itself. Needless to say, if such actions continue to repeat, deletion may be recommended. 76.94.235.103

editI have just reverted the article back to what appears to be a reasonable version from back in February. The "astroturfing" issue is sourced to blogs, and thus is not really appropriate for inclusion in the article other than to disparage the company. If it's been covered by reliable sources other than the blogs, then it might be worth discussing, but it would likely start leaning towards undue weight towards criticism. We need to be neutral, remember. I've left the review, though it made me a little hesitant as it's pretty weighted to the negative, and edited the bit about Sundance down to the simple fact. I'll be watching the article, and encourage participants here to discuss any potentially contentious changes here before making them. Tony Fox (arf!) 22:10, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Apparently now being discontinued?
editSeveral States have publicly discontinued selling Le Tourment Vert, discussion on one absinthe forum suggests that it is/has been discontinued, and the brand has ceased using previously well-used marketing channels such as Facebook and Twitter. There is no public announcement of all this, possibly because the company marketing the brand has stocks to dispose of. Should the article reflect this apparent phasing-out of the brand?
