Talk:Lead off

Redundant articles

edit

Even the redundancy is redundant.

First, there is a List of baseball jargon entry for "leadoff hitter." That belongs there and provides a good definition with two usages.

Second, there is a WP article "Leadoff hitter," which has an inadequate definition, then a list of historical leadoff hitters (a marginal list-making exercise, IMO).

Third, there is the present WP article, "Lead off," which has an OK definition but it's nothing more than that.

My recommendation is that the two WP articles be deleted and that we let the List of baseball jargon do its work as a glossary since the term leadoff hitter is appropriate there in any case.--Mack2 (talk) 13:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

This article is no more than a simple definition. The term is already defined succinctly in the List of baseball jargon and can be deleted as a separate article here.--Mack2 (talk) 05:04, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Lead off?"

edit

The request for citations is 14 years old now, and I have never heard of someone refer to this as a "lead-off," but only just a "lead." Can we delete this or remake it under the correct term? 216.107.215.219 (talk) 17:36, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
