Lane Mastodon cover
editI didn't particularly want to delete the picture of the Lane Mastodon comic that was here previously, but the box art fits the style used on other Infocom articles, and this article wasn't long enough to use two pictures. Apologies. -DynSkeet 02:17, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- It's ok I only put that there because I didn't have the box. --Yath 03:52, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, the article is plenty long enough, I added the new "feelies" section and re-added the picture. :-) — Frecklefoot | Talk 15:32, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Ah, you beat me to it; I'm trying to go through the existing articles and apply a uniform style throughout, including a section on feelies and additional notes. Thanks! -DynSkeet 15:44, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Golly, you might want to start a mini-Wikiproject for it! :-D — Frecklefoot | Talk 16:53, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
"Copy Prevention"
editI am leaning heavily towards deleting the section. In my opinion, LGOP is no different than the other Infocom games that are unsolvable without the feelies, and the specific hints about how to cross the canals shouldn't be singled out here. -DynSkeet 19:17, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- I'd keep the first paragraph, but delete the rest of the section. — Frecklefoot | Talk 20:04, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Exactly. I was thinking of moving the first bit to the Feelies section and deleting the rest. -DynSkeet 20:33, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- I think the specific information on the puzzles ought to stay. I can't really justify it on policy grounds, since "Wikipedia is not a general knowledge base", but still. The game is widely available, while the information necessary to solve it is not. If I wanted that info, Wikipedia is the first place I'd look. --Yath 20:38, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- I have to respectfully disagree. The information is available on several sites, including Elsewhere.org (included in the game's external links) and its mirror at Guetech.org. One of my main arguments for deletion of the information is that I don't want to duplicate all the game-required information from the feelies for every other Infocom game. -DynSkeet 21:00, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're right. It would be better to remove it. --Yath 21:05, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Will do. Thanks for the discussion. -DynSkeet 11:57, Apr 14, 2005 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Lane Mastodon-cover.jpg
editImage:Lane Mastodon-cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Rubber tubing and a yak
editI think this page should include mention of this phrase because it's one of the more memorable bits of the game :) [1]
