Few problems

edit

Leaves' Eyes is from Norway. They are also more Folk then Gothic Metal.

I wouldn't put Norway; even though Liv is from Norway, the band is based and operating from Germany only. I mean, nobody says Dream Theater is a Canadian/American band, for example. Lordhong 12:06, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Goth Metal?

edit

Where exactly are the "Goth Metal" elements? To me, it sounds mostly like Folk Metal. But maybe I'm wrong. >_>

Erm... actually I was extremely surprised to read folk metal here... For my part I would have said "goth metal with some folk elements". I honestly don't think that Leaves' Eyes can be considered as folk metal. I mean, are they more like Korpiklaani, Lumsk, Cruachan, Elvenking, Skyclad, or more like Theatre of Tragedy, Tristania (the calmer songs ^^), Therion, Sirenia or The Gathering (with folk elements, of course). I like both Leaves' Eyes and folk metal very much, but I don't think that it's correct to say that they play folk metal.
Also they aren't in the list of folk metal bands but they are in the list of goth metal bands.
And finally, a quick search on internet gives the following results Gothic metal ([1]), gothic metal ([2]) and , let me see, gothic metal ([3])! Even amazon states that it is a cross between gothic metal and atmospheric metal. Clearly something has to be changed here. --IronChris 19:53, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Ok well I'm going to modify the article on that subject, if anyone disagrees, please discuss it here. --IronChris 04:07, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

The problem is that a lot of people think Gothic Metal is female operatic fronted metal. Leaves' Eyes is not a Gothic Metal group. They have no similarity with Moonspell, Type O Negative, Paradise Lost, Tiamat, Theatre Of Tragedy (YES! Leaves' Eyes is not similar to them!) and others. Leaves' Eyes is more Folk metal than Gothic metal. But I prefer call them Symphonic metal with folk elements. Legend Land

edit

Legend Land should be out, anyone cares to update the article taking into account that? Thanks. OMenda 23:46, 23 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Liv and her involvement with Nymphetamine

edit

I think that bit of info is best left to Liv's own writeup since this article is about the band as a whole, and not Liv Kristine. So...I'm deleting it. I hope nobody objects. CyanideSandwich 19:37, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copyedit

edit

I've either rephrased or removed a fairly substantial amount of text from the History section due to inappropriate tone (fan-site language, unsourced BLP claims etc). I left a message on the content contributors page here with a summary of the issues and changes. If anyone has further concerns, feel free to raise them here so that we may reach consensus. --IShadowed 01:40, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
