Alrighty -- thanks for your patience! This article is looking pretty solid. The prose is generally clear, the article seems stable and neutral, and the included photos are relevant and appropriately tagged/licensed. No red flags from Earwig's copy-vio tool or from spot checks. There are a handful of social media sources used as refs, but they seem to be official football team/association accounts from the region (I think it's appropriate for this article subject) and are used minimally in the text. I do have a few other questions around prose, broadness, and reliable sourcing, however, and have included my comments and queries below:

Main text

edit

History

edit
  • "Thanks to a four-goal haul by Yara Bou Rada..." --> This feels a bit un-encyclopedic in tone (more like sports commentary). Perhaps a rephrase?
  • Is there any info you could add to the main text about the head coach (e.g., who she is, when she started coaching the team)? She's mentioned in the infobox, but nowhere else.
  • "despite losing 2–0 to Australia, Lebanon won against the other two teams (thanks to a four-goal haul by Yara Bou Rada against Hong Kong and three goals by Samira Awad)..." --> not backed up by the given source.
  • "After defeating Bhutan (6–2) and Mongolia (5–0)..." --> not backed up by the given source.

Recent results

edit
  • I had a quick look at instructions for use of the football box template, and (to avoid original research) it looks like it's important to always include that external "Report" link to match results. The two friendly matches with United Arab Emirates and the 7 June match with Iran all appear to be missing that link to match results, and the links to results for the 3 June match with Australia and 5 June match with Vietnam are not working (I'm getting a blank page).

Players

edit
  • I'm just going to check: in the table of players, there are no players listed with the numbers 14, 16, or 20. Are any player names missing, or are these numbers simply unused right now?

Top scorers

edit
  • Christy Maalouf's photo caption claims that she is "the team's all-time record scorer". Is there a solid source to back that up?
  • The list of top scorers is not backed up with a source (the IG source only mentions Maalouf and Iskandar, and only for 10 goals).

Second round of review comments

edit
@Nehme1499: Here we go -- I've checked your updates (thank you for those) and completed another sweep for any sourcing issues. The article is definitely looking better, but I'm still seeing a handful of items to address:
  • "After defeating Bhutan (6–2) and Mongolia (5–0)..." --> according to your new cited source, the score against Mongolia was 7-0.
  • You've added new refs to cite the competitive record info for FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup (the two Di Maggio sources) but I took a look at them, and they don't mention Lebanon at all. How do we know when Lebanon did not enter vs. tried to enter but did not qualify?
  • In the infobox, Christy Maalouf is still listed as "top scorer" without any sourcing.
  • In the "Players" section: do you have a source to back up ages/birth dates of players? This info isn't actually mentioned in the IG post about players called up for the squad.

I haven't tried using a bot for archiving sources, but I think it can be done: under "View History," there is an external tool listed under "Fix dead links," and that should bring you to the IABot interface. I notice that, in particular, the two West Asian Football Federation sources cited in the article need fixing. Best, Alanna the Brave (talk) 17:01, 10 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Alanna the Brave: I should have taken care of your concerns. Nehme1499 16:57, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Nehme1499: I'm back -- apologies again for the slowness! Thanks for the corrections. Two final requests:
  • I see what you mean about going into the tournament-specific RSSSF source pages (for the competitive record info), but some readers may find it confusing/unusual to have to go through two layers of a source when they are looking for specific information. Can you either (a) cite the individual tournament-specific pages instead, or (b) include a brief explanatory note with the existing tournament citations (21 & 22) that clarifies how to find tournament-specific info within the source?
  • I think the players' dates of birth either need to be cited with strong sources or removed completely -- they're not essential for this article, and if we're publishing personal information about living players (BLP), we need to be extra certain that the information is correct and verifiable.
That's everything from me. Let me know when these two items are sorted, and I should be ready to pass the article. Alanna the Brave (talk) 19:05, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Alanna the Brave: Done. Nehme1499 10:45, 29 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Alrighty -- I've made a couple of final edits myself for further clarity/sourcing accuracy, and I think the article is solid enough to pass muster now. I'm passing it. Good work! If you keep adding to the article in future (which I hope you do), just make sure you cite any new information with good sources. Even if you're confident you know where the info comes from, and that it's correct, your readers should still be able to verify the info themselves.
