Lee Dong Keun and Kim Gae Eun were not at the 2017 Sudirman Cup competition. This is why I removed them from the template. The BKA list proves this. In my opinion, since the BKA made a conscious decision not to send those two players after the list was submitted to the BWF but before the team bought their plane tickets, they should not be included on the winners' list. This is not just a matter of who played. They were not even there cheering. Donaldinyongin (talk) 02:05, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
I, in turn, see what you mean but I disagree that this is a reason not to remove him from the list. Tournamentsoftware entry lists are full of withdrawn players. Kento Momota in the 2016 Singapore Open is one of a thousand examples. You could argue that Wikipedia doesn't have all the instances of players who were on the lists but absent from team events. However, tournamentsoftware lists only go back for a few years. Before that, I believe the lists of medallists relies on who actually appeared on court. In other words, it seems as if you are arguing for an over-estimate in order to achieve some sort of standardization, whereas in general, Wikipedia underestimates the number of team members. You're saying Lee should be included based on a name on a list and a name you heard called. I'm also arguing based on the absence of the same name on a more up-to-date list and the absence of a body both on a podium and at a tournament venue.
