editI have modified the handling of the Amjad Bashir suspension by putting it in a footnote under the election box as has happened with similar instances in the Birmingham Hodge Hill and Aberdeen North articles. I have also added a source for the information regarding his suspension. Dunarc (talk) 21:36, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
1955 Conservative "gain"
editI do not think this should be classed as a Conservative gain. As the article makes clear the redrawn 1955 seat covered a radically different boundaries and was closer to the old Conservative-held Leeds North - indeed it was fought by that seat's incumbent Conservative MP, while the old North East member Alice Bacon moved to another Leeds seat which was seen as safer for the party. On the 1955 boundaries, the seat would very likely have been won by the Conservatives in 1951. Therefore I think it should be classed as a Conservative win rather than gain. - Equally the vote share changes and swing are calculated on the 1951 result - this is inaccurate due to the boundary change and is misleading. There is no way there was a swing of almost 20% (especially as the national swing was only around 2%). Dunarc (talk) 20:41, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
