Political position

Should we update the political position into the infobox to "Radical left to far-left". Lsandre (talk) 21:53, 10 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

The political position should be change. The position is (in french) "gauche radicale", a position in french equivalent to a moderate far-left (Radical left wing), to far-left.

This position is sourced with:

A last source : https://www.liberation.fr/france/2012/12/18/jean-luc-melenchon-a-rendu-le-parti-de-gauche-inaudible_868595/. In this article, the co-founder of the Left Party said that a left the party because Jean-Luc Mélenchon change the party to a far-left party : "La stratégie «Front contre Front» nous a «cornérisé» à l’extrême gauche".

Here a source, with a discussion between a journalist and a politologist : https://atlantico.fr/article/decryptage/melenchon-verts-et-gauche-de-la-gauche--echographie-d-un-echec-intellectuel-et-politique-en-gestation. The journalist ask if the party is far-left, and the politologist say that it's radical left.

Another source where the journalist say that Left Party (PG) is a far-left party: https://www.europe1.fr/politique/la-fete-de-lhuma-theatre-de-la-division-de-lextreme-gauche-2513641

La Fête de l’Huma, théâtre de la division de l’extrême gauche
   [...]
La constitution de listes communes PCF-PG-EELV pose problème. Dans les 13 nouvelles "super-régions", les négociations sont tendues.

@Lsandre: what is your brief and neutral statement? At over 2,900 bytes, the statement above (from the {{rfc}} tag to the next timestamp) is far too long for Legobot (talk · contribs) to handle, and so it is not being shown correctly at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Politics, government, and law. The RfC may also not be publicised through WP:FRS until a shorter statement is provided. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:28, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Redrose64: Should we update the political position into the infobox to "Radical left to far-left". Lsandre (talk) 21:42, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Then it needs to follow the {{rfc}} directly: Legobot won't look for it way down here. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:38, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Two new sources from politologists which consider the party or the leader of the party as far-left:
A l'extrême gauche, l'espace existe depuis longtemps. Le problème est plus celui de la fragmentation. Le NPA devrait survivre, mais restera minoritaire. Au contraire, pas sûr que le Parti de Gauche reste après Mélenchon.
  • Philippe Raynaud said that Jean-Luc Mélenchon leader of "Le Parti de gauche" is a far-left politic, in the book "L’extrême-gauche plurielle, Entre démocratie radicale et révolution", collection "Collection CEVIPOF-Autrement", isbn "2-7467-0856-6". Lsandre (talk) 21:09, 21 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
