Isn't the seating plan backwards? I thought the opposition sat to the Speaker's left in the British parliamentary tradition. Fishhead64 03:52, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's traditionally true of British parliamentary systems, but it's not the case on PEI, for some arcane reason that I can't recall. CaptainCanada 23:10, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I wonder if its in anyway realted to the reasons in the Newfoundland house (The Government sits on the right becasue in the old House, the heat was on the right) Keeperoftheseal 19:46, 28 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Government Majority

edit

Govt Majority would be 14 seats, not 10. GoodDay 18:27, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dual Member Ridings

edit

I can't find an explanation in Wikipedia for the system of dual member ridings, either federally or provincially. There is some information here about it in PEI, but this must have been different in other elections - Federally, for example the upper house was not elected, so the dual members can't have been one each for the upper and lower houses. Maybe someone who knows the history of this system could create an entry?Chignecto (talk) 16:26, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
