Removal of template
editThe template on Lehmann discontinuity disputing the accuracy of this article was placed without Talk page discussion to explain what was in dispute. I have added several sources that support the presentation , and have removed this template. Brews ohare (talk) 19:01, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
LD due to stresses, cracks?
editThe following article seemingly suggests, that deep lithospheric material, subjected to stresses, cracks horizontally, ultimately creating an anisotropy, in the speeds, of horizontally vs. vertically polarized S-waves.
Likewise, the LD seems associated with the Lithospheric-Aesthenospheric Boundary (LAB); perhaps the stresses & strains, imputed into the boundary layers, at and near the contacting surfaces of the LAB, generally reduces S-wave speeds; and specifically reduces SV-wave speeds even more? 66.235.38.214 (talk) 06:06, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
