Removed links to Leica M4-2 and M4-P under those subsections since they redirect to M4 page.JohnG62 (talk) 21:32, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is it just me, or does the `Leica M4-2' section look like it was written in a hurry, by someone who was mostly replying to the previous content, instead of replacing it? (Itsacon (talk) 13:48, 7 August 2009 (UTC))Reply

By coincidence I felt the same thing, so I've rewritten it from scratch. There were a couple of things I wasn't sure about, e.g. the end of the M4's initial run. The table of serial numbers I have seen suggests that the last big batch was in 1971, but they continued to make the model in 1972 as well. It would also be interesting to smooth out the gap between the reintroduced M4 of 1975 and the M4-2 of 1977; the impression I get is that the company initially decided to reintroduce the M4, but realised that they couldn't possibly make money from it, and so spent 1976 streamlining the design for mass-production, but I would need a good reference. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 14:56, 24 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
