Leigh Technology Academy → The Leigh Technology Academy – This is the correct name of the Academy as seen on all other documentation and records. Toby (talk) 15:01, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. Official names often use the definite article. That doesn't mean we should. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:56, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
"The" Leigh Technology Academy redirects here anyway. I created both pages, why should I not be able to do this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Toadams (talk • contribs) 12:37, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (definite and indefinite articles at beginning of name)#Rule of thumb. Would "The" be commonly capitalised in running text (i.e. would you write "I went to The Leigh Technology Academy")? I would suggest it would not be and that most people would actually write "I went to the Leigh Technology Academy" or even just "I went to Leigh Technology Academy". Note that we do not necessarily use official names on Wikipedia, but common names. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:23, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
