Ownership of Hilton Park
editThere is some debate as to whether Leigh Centurions are the landlords or the tennants at Hilton Park, I can confirm that they are the tennants. The following link supports this assertion: [1] Underneath the heading "Hilton Park" there is the following passage "Grundy Hill Estates is a company which was formed to purchase Hilton Park for (Leigh) RMI and to 'look after' the interests of (Leigh) RMI..."
Well in that case the Centurions are tennents of Grundy Hill Estates, not RMI. I'll ammend. Grinner 13:04, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
Strictly speaking, yes. Grundy Hill Estates was set up after the sale of Horwich R.M.I.'s old ground, Grundy Hill, to look out for the Club, so most people wouldn't deny a close link. I also remember there being members of the Leigh board on the board of Grundy Hill Estates. But strictly speaking you are right. Your rewording seems fair enough to me :-).

Longest name
editThe article claims that RMI have the longest name in English football, but there is a club in the Northern League called Sunderland Ryhope Community Association Football Club, which I make to be 6 letters longer...... ChrisTheDude 09:49, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Beaconsfield Slough Youth Club Old Boys Football Club is also longer, as is Jarrow Roofing Boldon Community Association Football Club..... ChrisTheDude 09:51, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- And Hamble Aerostructures Sports & Social Club Football Club is even longer.... ChrisTheDude 09:54, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- But would Hamble ASSC have the suffix F.C. anyway? I know down here in Devon, Totnes & Dartington SC dont use the F.C. (Sports Club Football Club sounds just daft anyway), but the Devon F.A. software can't handle it properly as it always sticks F.C. after club names. - fchd 16:07, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Fair point, that one can be knocked off the list of names that are longer than Leigh RMI's. I stand by the others, though :-) ChrisTheDude 06:53, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Best league finish
edit"Best League Finish: Northern Premier League Champions, 1999-2000" - surely every finish since then has been better given that they've been at a higher level.....? Specifically their best finish would be 5th in the Conference National in 2000–01 ChrisTheDude 13:32, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- That wording was taken directly from the official RMI website, which is cited at the end of the relevant section of the article. I can see how it's unclear, but I believe that it means highest league finish for the league the club was in at the time. So finishing 5th in Conference National would be a higher finish in the football league pyramid, but is lower within the league in which the club was playing that year. I'd be amenable to a change in wording to clarify, however. Friejose 14:33, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
