I'll review this. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 11:39, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sources are reliable. File:Leiter House under construction.jpg doesn't have an original date of publication; it was clearly taken in 1893, but in theory could have been published much later. I'm going to assume good faith on the part of the original uploader but if we can find the original publication that should be added to the Commons page.

  • "The only remaining large residences that once lined Dupont Circle are the Blaine Mansion, Patterson Mansion, and Wadsworth House, home of the Sulgrave Club.": Suggest "Of the large residences that once lined Dupont Circle, the only ones that remain are the Blaine Mansion, Patterson Mansion, and Wadsworth House, home of the Sulgrave Club."
  • "Her parties proved to be popular among locals and these events were often full of surprises, like when she had a large ribbon hung in the ballroom that separated what she described as the social elites from the others": This might be a difference between British and American English, but "like" used like this seems colloquial to me. How about "such as when"?
  • "none of us may never see again": surely a misquote?

That's everything. I copyedited a little; please revert if I screwed anything up. Not necessary for GA, but I wonder if Leitersburg was named after Leiter's family, which might mean it wasn't called Leitersburg at the time he was born and would be worth noting if so.

You're an excellent writer; can I persuade you to do some GAN reviews? There's always a backlog, and we need more reviewers who know how to write a GA. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 13:31, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the edits and suggestions. In regards to his hometown, according to the NRHP form for the Leitersburg Historic District, Jacob Leiter purchased the land in 1762 and his descendants developed the area through the 1800s. Do you think this info should be included? Thank you so much for the compliment. I will try and review some soon. I've been very busy the past few months with work and other obligations, so I haven't been spending much time on here. APK whisper in my ear 04:46, 4 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Changes look good; passing. No, no need to mention it; I was just curious if it was related to this Leiter. Re reviews, when you have time that would be great. If the good writers here could review more GANs than they submit it would really help make a dent in the backlog, though I know some editors are very busy in real life.
