The step father is George L Willis not George Willis (Footballer)

edit

After Lynda Willis, the daughter of George Willis (Footballer) contacted about an entry on her dads Wikipedia page which I’ve corrected.

Lemmy (all hail the great man) mother, Jessie, married George L Willis: marriage record: Jessie M Kilmister Registration Date: Jan 1956 [Feb 1956] [Mar 1956] Registration Quarter: Jan-Feb-Mar Registration district: Anglesey East Inferred County: Anglesey Spouse: George L Willis Volume Number: 8a Page Number: 28

Previously George L Willis was married to Vera Edwards and had 2 children.

So I will remove the reference to George Willis (Footballer) for Lynda and families sake. She did say “Much as I would like to be Lemmy's stepsister, this information is inaccurate.”

More evidence:

George L Willis who is George Lionel Willis (Tool Maker) 1908–1999 Married Vera Edwards 1906– Children: Patricia J Willis 1939– Anthony J Willis 1942–

Then married: Jessie Milda Kilmister nee Simpson 1912–2011 Nexus5 (talk) 17:45, 18 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Apparently the other George Willis played professionally for Bolton Wanderers, though George Willis (footballer) did not.--EchetusXe 09:31, 19 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Lemmy was also a guitar player on his main roles, even in Hawkwind and Motörhead

edit

He was the main guitarist in Rockin’ Vickers, he was one of the two guitarists as well as the lead vocalist in Sam Gopal, he regularly played acoustic guitar in the studio for Hawkwind and he played acoustic guitar in Motörhead somewhat regularly from 'Bastards' onwards and he also played the second guitar solo on "Limb From Limb" on the 'Overkill' album as well as "Boogeyman" on the 'Rock ‘n’ Roll' album. the infobox should only list the most commonly used instruments --FMSky (talk) 06:34, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
He did commonly play guitar though. Mewhen123 (talk) 22:33, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Contradiction

edit

The illness and death section currently contains a contradiction. The second paragraph claims he died from prostate cancer, yet directly below his manager is quoted saying they found cancer in his neck and brain. Now, the prostate is neither the neck nor the brain, so which cancer was he actually diagnosed with. Tvx1 20:44, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
