Known as PMI

edit

I am not in the insurance business, but have always referred to this insurance as PMI..as have the lenders I have dealt with in the past. The insurance itself can sometimes be confusing to new home buyers. I feel the neither Private Mortgage Insurance nor Lenders mortgage insurance currently have enough information to be merged, and would like to hear from professionals in the field before making this decision.

Should be merged

edit

both shall be merged as it talks about the same matter.

Should be REDIR

edit

There is nothing in the PMI article that is not here. PMI, Private Mortgage Insurance and all related newbie-typing should redirect here. Kevin/Last1in 23:06, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

PMI or/and LMI

edit

The term generally used in the lending industry is PMI. General Mortgage Corporation, San Diego 11/01/2006

Yes. What reason is there to use the non-US title when the entire article deals with the US? Apart from Anglophilic pretension, I mean.134.173.201.131 (talk) 16:31, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge?

edit

This should be merged with mortgage insurance. Globe199 21:41, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Is value added: PMI

edit

What is the impact of PMI on the current mortgage defaults. Did PMI worsen the matter? A PMI premium on top of a credit risk loan seems contrary to common sense. I appreciate that idea as much as the ethanol alternative oil solution - inducing worldwide food cost increases to reduce dependency on oil. Crude prices are hyperinflated by hedgefunds and futures trading. Back to housing and PMI - hyperinflated bubble created by selling futures ("Don't worry about high cost, high rates, PMI, fees, risk your future home value will double in 3 years.")

More information about process

edit

Hi, I was looking around online for more information about the actual process to obtain mortgage insurance when purchasing a home and the details of how everything happens and who does what, etc. and was having a hard time finding information about it, and this article didn't have any information about it either. If there is someone who knows more about it and could add that to this article I think that would be helpful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BJSpack (talkcontribs) 22:40, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cost reference 15 years old

edit

Just wanted to point out that the page references for the cost of PMI is 15 years old and almost certainly incorrect now.—Cyraxote (talk) 05:57, 14 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
