editHi, User:Yash! has retired from Wikipedia. What do we do now? Is the article ready to be listed as GA or not? Azylber (talk) 18:01, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- The review should be closed and the article not listed. It doesn't meet GA criteria 2 due to the [citation needed] tags, 3 due to the excessively detailed plot/character and lack of analysis (theme/style/genre) section and 6 due to a fair use image without a valid rationale. maclean (talk) 02:48, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- I reckon it doesn't need to be closed. I will deal with 2 and 6, and we can work together on 3. Azylber (talk) 11:37, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- I am willing to email you some of the scholarship to base such those themes, etc. sections on but I won't be taking on this GA review. maclean (talk) 02:39, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- I believe proper procedure does call for this review to be closed, which is a shame. The problem is there is no longer a reviewer to agree to its listing, unless someone else comes on board. I'm willing to help correct any outstanding problems if there's a chance of its still being successful, but I'm not too sure about that. Evanh2008 (talk|contribs) 11:43, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- This should have been quickfailed. The article has no sections on "Themes" or "Genre" or "Style", for example, and cites next to none of the published scholarship on this novel. Compare this to an article such as Cousin Bette, another 19th-century French novel. There are literally hundreds of books written on Les Miserables by literary scholars and this article does not summarize that scholarship. This is a good start, but it still needs a lot of work to cover the basic topics. Wadewitz (talk) 23:06, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
- Agreed. This article is a disaster. Not only for the gaps, but also for the writing style and the absurdly long plot summary. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 18:07, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
