about the speedy deletion of Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg
editWcam has proposed the deletion of File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg, citing the existence of a free image of the same person as the reason. However, the image he presented, File:Leslie Cheung.jpg, is not adequate as a replacement for File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg.
Firstly, in the image File:Leslie Cheung.jpg, Leslie Cheung is not facing forward; only a side view is available. Additionally, the image is small, making it difficult to clearly identify the main subject.
Secondly, as mentioned in the image deletion discussions page, "If an image is of very low quality (like the one at the right), however, that may reduce its ability to add meaningfully to readers' understanding of the article." I believe File:Leslie Cheung.jpg falls into this category. The recognition of Leslie Cheung in the image, File:Leslie Cheung.jpg, is not due to the clarity of the picture but rather because the article title states that it is Leslie Cheung.
Thirdly, the image in question, sourced from Flickr, is a collage of four different pictures. This is the reason for its small size, as the original source is not centered around Leslie Cheung. This is in contrast to File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg, which is specifically focused on Leslie Cheung.
Furthermore, the older version in 2016 utilized File:Leslie Cheung.jpg, the free image of the same person, albeit small and challenging to clearly identify the main subject. It was subsequently replaced with File:Leslie_Chung.jpg (namely, File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg). This decision was made consciously to enhance the inadequate information provided by the preceding image.
The contention lies in whether File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg has an equivalent that can serve as a replacement. I argue that due to the differences in the primary subjects of the two images and the fact that File:Leslie Cheung.jpg is focused on a side face and is too small, making it challenging to clearly identify the main subject, it cannot serve as a adequate replacement for File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg. Medical nonsense
editIt may be true that “Ophelia, stated Cheung was diagnosed with clinical depression caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain,” but stating it does not make it true. To this date there is no medical test that can be used to justify such a diagnosis. Nicmart (talk) 11:50, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

- Yeah, I don't get why a picture of a wax model would be appropriate. Unfortunately I'm not sure how to go about securing a fair-use picture. Gemsbokian (talk) 15:25, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- Right. No picture is better than a picture of a wax model. WACGuy (talk) 05:08, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
Rumours about Leslie's death
editI've noticed that rumours had been published about Leslie's death on the page, suggesting that he died because he had AIDS. This info directly contradicts his suicide letter and what has been disclosed by the family. As far as I know, no reliable surces can confirm this info. Only facts should be published about such sensitive topic. Ohfallingstar (talk) 03:55, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- According to the source, Li Ao claimed that his source of information was a "well-known producer" who refused to be named. Given Li Ao's influence, I think it's necessary to mention it. SKBNK (talk) 07:31, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- I mean, just for an analogy, it's just like some cultural and political star suddenly saying somebody who is famous died of Sexually transmitted diseases. I hope you can understand what I mean. It's better to mention it. SKBNK (talk) 07:41, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- Even the article you posted as source says that Li Ao could not provide clear or direct evidence for this rumour, and that he had reasonable doubt about this information because his "sources" couldn't immediately provide direct evidence to prove it, but you conveniently leave out that part from your edition. I think it's important to clarify that, otherwise the info you're posting is misleading. Ohfallingstar (talk) 07:49, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- Well, how about
Taiwanese politician Li Ao claimed in a TV program that Leslie Cheung committed suicide because he was suffering from AIDS, and the correctness of this statement has been questioned.
- or
SKBNK (talk) 08:16, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Taiwanese politician Li Ao claimed in a TV program that Leslie Cheung committed suicide because he was suffering from AIDS, resulting in a huge response.
- The first one is more accurate, but I'd change the "and" for a "but":

I personally agree with Angela fan as it is too much information to add and that they should just look at the sources themselves 210.54.239.128 (talk) 04:21, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
