editFWDixon is a spammer and plagiarist with more than 100 links from Wiki to his web site to sell books thru Amazon. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.205.13.193 (talk • contribs) 08:37, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

More on the link spamming and commercial advertising. Example http://hardyboys.bobfinnan.com/hbpb.htm is just a list of titles that all have links to Amazon. All of the books summaries were copied from Amazon. Every HB Digest title, Casefiles title, Clues Brothers title, Supermysteries title, Ultra Thriller title and so on has a link to Amazon and all summaries were copied from Amazon. Does that tell anyone something?
Birthplace
editI have heard he was born in Winnipeg, not Carleton. --K D Faber
Books under the name Carolyne Keane
editIn the the book Ghost of the Hardy Boys, he mentions writing Nancy Drew stories under the Keane pseudonym, not Dana Girls. Modus Vivendi (talk) 11:17, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
The Boat
editI live near Haileybury, and a boat, supposedly owned by McFarlane is in display in town. It is locally considered to be the model for the boat used in the early Hardy Boys books. I have a photograph that I took of it today which I can upload. UrbanTerrorist (talk) 20:40, 27 September 2014 (UTC)
Nondisclosure Clause
editMr. McFarlane must have been of the belief that he would be dead before his memoir "Ghost of the Hardy Boys" saw publication, which would mean the Nondisclosure clause in his agreement to write the Hardy Boys novels was null and void. As it was, he died AFTER the book's publication, meaning the clause was technically still active at that time. Glammazon (talk) 16:15, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
