Image copyright
editGood image from LOC [1] but it's freshly scanned, and somehow Novosibirsk State Museum of Regional History and Folk Life has it copyrighted, how about fair use it, this link mentions that? –Gnomz007(?) 20:33, 13 August 2005 (UTC) Actually I have an idea about exploiting Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel Corp. - the sorce image is from 1926 - no copyright outside SU.–Gnomz007(?) 22:01, 13 August 2005 (UTC)
- An image of a PD art can be be protected by copyright only if there is any art involved in the image production, like photo-artist collage, etc. They may claim whatever they want but this is PD. I will add it to the article. --Irpen 23:59, August 13, 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks, those museums tend to copyright everything, maybe in ex-SU that means something –Gnomz007(?) 00:19, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
beads rope Chotki
editEnglish Wiki sometimes confronts you with interesting philosophical issues, often far deeper than those one would expect to ponder.
I see a major consistency issue in prayer beads rosary prayer rope aka Chotki Chotki (четки/Ukrainian чотки) is prayer beads, currently redirects to prayer rope has an accurate descriprtion of lestovka, well chotki is a general word for both beads and rope. Many English articles refer to lestovka as beads or rosary (which is for which it is used, but not exactly), and lestovka is aka vertsvitsa [2]. I will do the following:
- Chotki need to be redirected to prayer beads
- mention removed from prayer rope
- the Ukrainian article interwikied to prayer beads
The most difficult one is the decision what to do with the rest so there will be no confusion–Gnomz007(?) 02:16, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
