Hard to verify since the page it is "courtesy of" does not appear to be working right now. - furrykef (Talk at me) 22:28, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Strategy

edit

Some of the listed strategy decisions do not effect house edge, so it makes no difference if the player follows the listed strategy or not. For example, consider 4 to an outside straight. There are 2*4=8 ways to form a straight, and 48 cards left in the deck when drawing the 5th card. This makes the expected gain/loss on the hand 8*5 (straight pays 5:1) - 40*1 (loss pays -1) = 0. I think these situations should be marked appropriately in the strategy. NolanAlex

QUESTION:

Has anyone seen an analysis on the expected chance of winning before the cards are dealt? Just what is my chance of getting any winning hand? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.164.230.29 (talk) 05:14, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

By my calculations, the odds of any hand being a winning one would be 23.865%. 69.210.137.252 (talk) 04:07, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
