The reaction scheme in this article has an error. A carbon is inserted following the grignard reaction (with BnMgBr). The OH should be attached directly to the quaternary carbon. Incorrect Mechanism

The mechanism given for the synthesis of this molecule is incorrect, and inserts an extra carbon atom adjacent to the hydroxyl group after the nucleophilic addition of the BzMgBr to the carbonyl group of the molecule Megaderpbro (talk) 19:59, 1 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
