Glastonbury 2023

edit

On 24 June 2023 he performed on the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival. At the end of his set he announced: "I feel like I'll be taking another wee break for the next few weeks, you might not see me even for the rest of the year – but when I do come back and I do see you, I hope you're up for watching."[1] 86.187.160.141 (talk) 20:08, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Relation to Peter Capaldi

edit

The article used to cite the pair's relationship states that Peter is Lewis' dad's second cousin, which would make the pair second cousins once removed, not first cousins twice removed. The latter would be if Peter was the first cousin of any of Lewis' grandparents. This should be changed to match the description in the newspaper article itself. 2.25.38.28 (talk) 19:04, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I just removed everything but "cousin" from Peter Capaldi's article and I'm going to do the same here because the source, a quote from Lewis Capaldi saying "I think he’s my dad’s second cousin", is almost entirely unworkable. First, because it's a quote from Lewis, the source has an issue with WP:PRIMARY, which says we should avoid using people as sources about themselves. Second, we're stating as fact that their relationship is a specific, distinct one, either first cousins twice removed or second cousins once removed, when Lewis himself says no such thing; heck, he barely ("I think") establishes a familial relationship at all. Third, it's possible that just calling them "cousins" is a no-go because the quote says Lewis's father and Peter are cousins but does not say Lewis and Peter are cousins. See WP:OR for an explanation for why we might not be able to say that even if it's true.
The article establishes that they're related and in my opinion, Lewis's words are enough to call the two "cousins." We definitely don't have enough to call them anything more than that. City of Silver 19:52, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've read in two different articles that Lewis and Peter are second cousins once removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2407:7000:9025:1800:9114:5B18:C96C:341E (talk) 06:51, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
