Lib-Labs = Radicals?
editWere the lib-labs the same as the radicals? Is there any information on the number of lib-labs and which seats they occupied? BillMasen (talk) 13:40, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- The Lib-Labs shared some of the radicals' aims, but the key point about the Lib-Labs were that they directly represented labour, having working class backgrounds and positions in trade unions. The seats they held were some of those with working class majorities, sometimes in urban areas, but often predominantly rural areas, particularly where one industry dominated. As the article states, at the peak of the movement, there were 12 MPs, although it wasn't always clear whether some MPs were part of the Lib-Lab group or not. The best places to check the seats out and some names are the the pages that link to this article, and Category:Liberal-Labour politicians (UK). Warofdreams talk 18:34, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
