Wiki title

edit

Is there anyway to get rid of the colon after the word privilege? On the book title there is no colon. Youhunt (talk) 13:33, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, fixed it!Youhunt (talk) 13:42, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
There is a colon in the title, according to just about every ISBN-based classification platform. - AppleBsTime (talk) 14:27, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Just wondering why it is not available on the book cover itself? Youhunt (talk) 14:31, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Youhunt, similar to Triggered, not colon on book cover but used in title. Glen (talk) 14:59, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
AppleBsTime, are you able to find a ISBN number? I am unable to find one, is it because it is a self published book? Youhunt (talk) 14:57, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Of course. The ISBN is 057872698X, or 9780578726984. I think you need to get away from thinking that how a title appears on a book cover is the formal title of the work, as filed for copyright. In fact, I would dare say that most books having a colon in the title refrain from actually graphically showing the colon on the book jacket. - AppleBsTime (talk) 15:09, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
AppleBsTime, Thank you, I have never created any wiki pages for books before, so I am kind of new to doing this, and I will need experienced people to help me create a wiki book page. Youhunt (talk) 15:19, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Citations

edit

I know the citations are promotional, but since the book has not been released yet. That is the best info there is out there. Once the book is released and info is available on neutral sites, we can use them instead of the current ones. Youhunt (talk) 13:44, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

As you saw within just a few minutes, with a little more effort you can find better info than "the best info there is out there"! It was fun working with you to improve this to article status. - AppleBsTime (talk) 15:24, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Images

edit

Are there any book cover images that we can use for the page? Youhunt (talk) 13:45, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

You would want to review WP:FUC. - AppleBsTime (talk) 15:28, 28 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think we should add images of the front and back of the book, this is a hardcover book, so there is a dust jacket. Youhunt (talk) 04:05, 30 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Curly quote/apostrophe

edit

Should the page be renamed to use a straight quote/apostrophe instead of a curly quote/apostrophe per the Manual of Style? -- Pemilligan (talk) 01:05, 30 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I have done so. Οἶδα (talk) 05:39, 7 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Moved as proposed. BD2412 T 19:24, 20 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Liberal Privilege: Joe Biden and the Democrats' Defense of the IndefensibleLiberal Privilege – I haven't found any evidence that the book's subtitle is part of its WP:COMMONNAME. Nor is the subtitle needed as far as disambiguation goes, seeing that the title 'Liberal Privilege' appears to be shared by no other work. So as far as WP:NCBOOKS goes, I believe the page should be moved to Liberal Privilege. Also, it's worth noting that the page Liberal Privilege already exists as a redirect only because the same user created duplicate articles within minutes of each other for some inexplicable reason. Support Though I wasn't the creator of this article, nor do I personally support the basis of the subject matter, I felt compelled to help out the original author in making the article more compliant with Wikipedia policies. That being said, it does sound to me like a move to "Liberal Privilege" would be an improvement. - AppleBsTime (talk) 17:01, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Support per nom. All independent references use Liberal Privilege, making it an obvious WP:COMMONNAME. Not to mention that such an unnecessarily long title looks awful. Bernat (talk) 11:39, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Support per reasons given above. -- Pemilligan (talk) 14:09, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
