Racial Covenants
editThe article states that the declining use of restrictive covenants led to the decline of Liberty City. That needs to be clarified. Does the person who wrote that mean to suggest that letting blacks into the neighborhood was the cause of its decline, or is some other point being made? Also, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 had nothing to do with the decline in the use of restrictive covenants. They had been declared unenforceable in Shelley v. Kramer in 1948, and they were outlawed by the Fair Housing Act of 1968.Alexander Springstea (talk) 01:44, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

Merging Model City into here
editMy concern is that a large portion of the historic Allapattah neighborhood is included in the Model City area. Model City is the successor to Liberty City and the northern part of Allapattah. If there is to be a merger, it makes more sense to me to merge the Liberty City article into the Model City article. -- Donald Albury 10:47, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
