the larger picture
editHistorians and political scientists like Holt and Kleppner relate the party to the larger issues of party organization, using the party systems model. Students who take AP Government courses will be tested on this so we should include it here rather than leave readers ignorant. Rjensen 15:45, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
1848? National Liberty Party?
editThis page[1] seems to indicate Gerrit Smith and C.C. Foote were the candidates for P/VP that year, not John P. Hale?
Also, was this party also called the National Liberty Party? Шизомби (talk) 20:49, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Actually on the first question the article I linked appears to touch on the question of Hale, mentioning him as the candidate of (if I understand) another party calling itself the Liberty Party or somehow of an illegitimate LP convention. Шизомби (talk) 21:41, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Mistake in dates
editI think there's a mistake in the box next to the 20th Century Liberty Party. It says the years active were 1832-1832, which are not in the 20th Century, and are in fact, only 1 year. Ileanadu (talk) 16:41, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- It looks like possible the box should read 1932, but we really ought to get a source. Шизомби (talk) 20:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
