Contested deletion

edit

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (considering the references with bylines and all meets WP:GNG reliable per WP:NGRS here are links [1] here is [2], [3], Google search shows here and article has significant coverage [https://www.google.com/search?q=lighthill+music&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#ebo=0 --Gratefulking (talk) 15:50, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

The two relevant guidelines in this case is WP:NMUSIC and WP:MUSICBIO. "An article on an artist or band that does not indicate that the subject of the article is important or significant can be speedily deleted under criterion A7.", a mere claim of significance can however avoid speedy deletion under A7, I think your contest is sufficient here in the discussion but wasn't from the beginning clear in the article. So I will add that part from the third source which wasn't clearly stated in the article. Therefore a speedy deletion isn't a problem anymore but for the article to be approved you need to strengthen the point in 1. in WP:MUSICBIO, "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself." When that is done (add sources to the content you've just added), I don't see any more issues here.@Gratefulking:, @Dxneo: BastianMAT (talk) 16:42, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you BastianMAT. However, if the subject does not clearly pass WP:GNG; specifically WP:SIGCOV, this article will most likely not survive AfD. Just thought I should let you know. dxneo (talk) 16:50, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes I definitely agree, however the editor should be given a chance to add reliable sources to pass WP:GNG, before it's taken to AFD. @Dxneo: BastianMAT (talk) 16:52, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Correct. Let's see if the creator (and others) can sum up significant coverage in about an hour before the article is eligible to be moved into draftspace or worst, taken to AfD. All the best. ✌️ dxneo (talk) 16:57, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@BastianMAT I’ve added the citation as noted and I saw that the content was referenced on first citation so I used it. Gratefulking (talk) 16:54, 23 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
