Too American-centric, not international enough

edit

Article is way too American-centric at the moment. Surely people have info about lighthouse keepers in other nations! 210.50.60.48 (talk) 06:56, 4 November 2008 (UTC).Reply

Couldn't agree more, that was the first thing to strike me about this article. Surely someone can add something about lighthouse keepers in the United Kingdom or other countries? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.162.142.166 (talk) 17:28, 17 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've added info about Canadian, Pacific, and European lighthouse keepers. Bkatcher (talk) 19:33, 13 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
I've moved a few of the American-centric pieces into a newly created History section, which I hope to expand, and I've also grouped the info about other international lighthouse keepers into sub-sections by geographic area. I fleshed out some of the info Bkatcher added and added some new info for other countries as well. --M4CD0N4LD-D4N (talk)
Still weirdly American. Especially since the first lighthouses were around 1000s of years before America, and one presumes they must have had staff to man them.

North Foreland may have been the last Trinity House to be automated, but didn’t Walney last about 5 more years before being automated in 2003? 185.104.136.55 (talk) 19:32, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
