Overwikification
editWP:DATE clearly states: "Wikipedia has articles on days of the year, years, decades, centuries and millennia. Link to one of these pages only if it is likely to deepen readers' understanding of a topic." I have once again reverted edits linking to date articles. I contend this is overwikification as the links are not at all helpful. Ohconfucius (talk) 04:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Multiple marriages
editThe whole section on Lim's multiple marriages is currently supported by one Chinese references. I would propose that unless an English reference can be found that this section is deleted. DJ Clayworth (talk) 15:07, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- You will note that there are several sources to the article, and this is an important complementary source used because it is quite extensive. This old-timer was from another era, he was better known to chinese-only-speaking Chinese. What is more, the Chinese-language press is infinitely more interested in celebrities' personal lives, so the lack of quality English sources on this aspect is hardly surprising. The multiple wives thing is hardly considered controversial in his generation and in that day and age. We are not talking about stuff which is considered 'sensitive' by the Central government, so the fact is that CCTV in these circumstances is an impeccably reliable source, and I believe the text should remain. In all, the facts stated are WP:V compliant, albeit in another language. I agree that it would be a problem if this was the only source, but it isn't. Another reason for keeping it is that his 2 sons better known are from different mothers, a fact which the Chinese media often refers to. I have tried and make the reference text as en:WP compatible as possible to allay your concerns. Let me know if the article now is more acceptable with regard to your concerns.
