Non-free mascot logos such as File:LU-Bellevillelynxlogo.png are generally only considered to comply with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy when they are used as the primary means of identification in a stand-alone article about the mascot or the athletic department because it is believed that is where any sourced critical commentary of the logo is likely to be found. In other articles, such as in articles about individual sports teams, the non-free use of the logo typically requires a much stronger non-free justification. Consensus regarding similar logo use at WP:FFD has been that a team-specific logo or a public domain wordmark needs to be used instead because the teams are considered to be child-entities per item 17 of WP:NFC#UUI. So, it would be better to use something specific to the women's hockey team such as the ones found on Twitter or Facebook. Itwould even be better to use the LU Bellville shield logo (if such a thing could be found online) used on the team's sweaters since that would clearly be {{PD-logo}} and would not be subject to Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:30, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
